Loose neck skin, fatty deposits below the chin and banding of muscles of the neck are some of the most troubling signs of facial aging. Sagging of the jowls, cheek and facial skin often accompany neck skin laxity. However, neck skin excess, the classic "turkey gobler" deformity gets special notice to even the most casual observer.

The neck lift  or platysmaplasty is one of our most requested procedures to correct deformities of the neck.In fact, many patients have requested the neck lift  along with neck liposuction as an isolated procedure.

When more significant neck and facial laxity exists, it is often performed along with a minimilly invasive, small incision s-lift, or a traditional facelift ( rhytidectomy) . 

 

The neck lift procedure involves neck liposuction through very small incisions hidden under the chin and behind the earlobes to remove troublesome fat pockets. The loose underlying muscles of the neck are sutured in a corsett type fashion to tighten the neck support. Finally, the entire neck is suspended to reestablish youthful neck lines.

 

Because incisions are small, discomfort is  minimal and recovery from the procedure is generally rapid. Most patients are back to their normal routines in only a few days.
